The Great Ungnome
SATURDAY OCTOBER 19TH 2013!!!
If you’re not working or are looking for a way to spend the day, come out to Old Town Tustin for the 6th annual Tustin Art Walk.
Experience some awesome work from local artists featuring all types of mediums and enjoy some time in Tustin’s historic district.
And if you happen to see some art that happens to be more obscure and colorful than the rest, you might just be approaching the Great Ungnome’s booth!
So come out and enjoy an awesome Saturday with art, history and couple of guys that love to throw you an art curve-ball.
The Great Ungnome Podcast is our sometimes-weekly-but-more-like-whenever-we-feel-like-posting podcast wherein we chat about everything art, gnomes, life and everything in between.
The best part: we’re on iTunes! So go and download, subscribe and listen to us ramble on ad infinitum.
Los Angeles…Prepare for the UNGOME!
August 17 & 18th. All art will be UNDER $100!
Sven and Kurt discover what a “party nail” is and how it doesn’t have anything to do with a “party finger,” Kurt talks of his not-so-triumphant return to art, Sven talks about photography, a challenge for the listeners is presented and a big announcement is made…and no it’s not about the Kretchen.Details
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!
BOYS AND GIRLS!
…and all you other GNOMES!
Join us for our first ever art workshop!
A new monthly feature where we’ll gather together and do what we love to do; ART!
This is a 3 hour life drawing session with live models, prepared to a theme that is nothing short of awesome, fantastic and down right fun.
This won’t be like you’re typical art workshop where it’s “hush hush”, but instead a fun interactive setting where artists can get together and just do what they love to do.
All art mediums are welcomed, we only ask that if you intend on doing something colorful or “messy”, be sure to bring a drop cloth or something protective since we don’t want to make a mess of our new home base.
Now remember kiddies; this will be an art WORKSHOP.
This ISN’T a class, it’s a life drawing session for artists to rock out their skills with live models.
This doesn’t mean this is for pros only; all levels of art are encouraged to come out.
There won’t be ANY photography permitted and there won’t be any loitering.
If you’re not there to draw, paint, sculpt, WHATEVER your weapon of choice may be, you will be asked to leave and won’t be refunded.
So stay tuned for more details for this June 20th, with special offers and plans!
See ya in the show!
We have a new episode for you boys and girls!
This week we, The Great Ungnome, got to chat with long time and friend and amazingly talented Howard Wilkins III!
Listen in on the shenanigans we get into this time!
Hey boys and girls!
Starting this month we’ll be doing a new monthly podcast feature called “The Ungnome Podcast”
An occasional rant is always good for the soul, and since we’re pretty sure ours are going to Hell anyway, join Kurt and Sven on the chats about anything and everything in the way that only they can do best. With occasional guest speakers, events and random adventure, “The Ungnome Podcast” will be anything but boring.
….ok, that might be a lie, but don’t knock it till you try it.
So keep you hand off that dial and tune in and hear some funny for free.

I was never a huge taco aficionado but from 2007-2009 while on lunch breaks, I would cruise over to Taco Bell for some tacos or nachos (let’s face it, I got both). I got into all their tacos, then the Volcano Taco came out! Freakin’ mind blowing. Super cheesy and spicy, it became one of my favorites. So, surprisingly, being so familiar with Taco Bell, I hadn’t heard of the Taco Bell Doritos taco but apparently it had been out testing in markets around the U.S.
My first encounter with the Doritos Loco Taco came last year, when I was at a taste test before they were released here in Cali. I had a nacho cheese flavored taco, followed by the “soon to be released” Flamas Tacos. If you dig spice, you’ll dig this taco! Been waiting for a while for this baby to be released.
Not THAT kind of Dorito! Although, I always thought it would be cool if Dorito’s made up some Dorito paintball bunkers with a graphic of a Dorito on it.
Since, I have discovered many a fine tasting taco at a variety of restaurants. Maybe when I have some time, I’ll write up a bit on where to get some other good tacos.
Anyway, here’s a rad video on how Taco freakin’ Bell is stimulating the economy and our pallets.
Click the taco above to watch!
If you’re looking for something entertaining, exciting, and somewhat dangerous!
…..then this isn’t it, BUT if you want to hear a rad interview about art then this is for you!

The OCCCA Gallery in the Downtown Santa Ana Art District will be showing an old piece of mine, Manny Quinn, in their upcoming Graphic Noir show.
With the help of Sven, I tweaked the position of the helmet and added a cool cinderblock stand to give the whole piece a more urban, noir feel.
Come check it out, Saturday, April 6th 7pm-11pm! There’s going to be a lot of (better than Manny Quinn) gaphic noir pieces, artists, and even some cosplay folk. After, scope out the rest of the art walk and get your monthly fix of art.
Here’s a teaser:
